Personalised education means that the school and the teachers start from and adapt themselves to your goals, your ambitions and your potentials - not the opposite. The main task of the school is to impart knowledge. In addition to this, it is the aim of Kunskapsskolan to provide each pupil with additional skills - methods of acquiring and using a variety of knowledge, as well as personal development - to be able to meet a future world of vast flows of information and a rapid rate of change. The fundamental principle behind our method of learning is the conviction that all pupils are different and that they learn in different ways and at different rates, and that it is the school´s task to meet these differences.

Kunskapsskolan was founded in 1999 and currently operates 23 secondary schools for pupils between the ages of 12 and 16, and ten sixth form schools for 16 to 19 year olds, totalling 10,000 students. The school doesn´t charge any fees. It is financed through a state school voucher system, entitling the pupils (and parents) to choose the school of their liking.
The business concept is to develop and operate a chain of privately managed schools with the same educational notion.
This is roughly what school has looked like since the 19th century - a joint collective timetable for everybody, classes, corridors and class rooms...
